I know it doesn't have anything to do with NW Colorado, but it's turkey season!!! Charlie and I popped out to NW Nebraska and hunted with a great friend, Doug Buckley. His farm is a little bit of a turkey Mecca. We saw numerous birds everyday and were able to close the deal on both the first morning and the last morning of the hunt. So much fun to spend time in the outdoors teaching kids to love hunting and fishing. Charlie is doing a science fair project this week about entomology in the Yampa River and tying flies to match the aquatic insects. He can now use some of the feathers he harvested from his turkey on his flies. Now that's trans-disciplinary learning!!
